WABASH COUNTY, Ill. (WEVV) — The National Transportation Safety Board, or NTSB, has released a preliminary report on a train derailment that happened in Wabash County.

As we reported in July, a train derailment east of Browns sparked a significant emergency response on July 18.

The NTSB has now released preliminary findings on the investigation into the incident, where 24 total railcars were derailed.

After derailing, the railcars then crashed into a stationary westbound mixed freight train.
