ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A St. Louis woman whose unattended three kids died in a fire will serve probation.

Prosecutors say Dajuana Coleman left her three children at the Clinton-Peabody apartments on October 22, 2019. One of the kids allegedly played with a lighter and the fire started on their mattress, according to officials.

Coleman was indicted in October 2022. On Friday, she pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree involuntary manslaughter in the deaths of Dream, 5, Heaven, 4, and Damarion, 6 months. She was charged with leaving the siblings in an apartment “when there was a risk of fire”.

Coleman will serve probation for three years. If she violates her probation, she will be sentenced to 10 years in prison.
