ATLANTA — Georgia's top election official called Fulton County's Board of Commissioners "reckless" and said they are undermining trust in government after defying a court order to seat two Republicans on the county election board on Wednesday.

A judge earlier this month ruled that the county must appoint two Republican nominees they had rejected to the Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections.

The Fulton Republican Party had sued seeking to force the Board of Commissioners to appoint the party's nominees, Julie Adams and Jason Frazier, to the election board, arguing that the commissioners were required to do so by law.
