TOPEKA (KSNT) — Local organization, "Women for Kansas" is sending a strong message to Kansas voters ahead of the 2026 legislative session.

27 News caught up with a member of the group, who shared with us that the organization is speaking out against a constitutional amendment that will be on the 2026 ballot.

The amendment aims to change the way that Supreme Court Justices are selected in Kansas. Currently, when a seat needs to be filled, a nominating committee provides a list of names to the governor, who then picks from that list.

If the amendment passes, the selection process would then be based on a traditional election, allowing voters to elect Justices. This amendment has been endorsed by the Kansas Republican Party.

However, "Women for Kansas" is urging everyone to vote no. Kelly
