NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) — A New Britain family laid their 2-year-old son to rest on Friday, weeks after the boy choked to death at a local day care.
The New Britain YWCA has been closed for nearly a month since July 29, when the toddler fatally choked on a meatball. They have now announced that they plan to reopen on Monday.
The funeral for the boy was held in Bloomfield before he was brought to his final resting place in New Britain.
Investigations have been conducted by the Department of Children and Families and the Office of Early Childhood. Local police have told News 8 that they also have an open case into the matter.
