VALHALLA, N.Y. — Inside a children's hospital is a place no parent or patient ever wants to be, but construction crews at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital are doing their part to brighten up the days of the young kids inside.
"We were working, and we were looking in the windows, and we saw kids - we didn't know it was a children's hospital," Jesse Burke said.
While building a brand new, state-of-the-art critical care unit, one of the ironworkers on site got an idea. He wanted to spread some hope for the families inside.
"The one thing that should never exist in a perfect world is a hospital for kids, so we wanted to do something nice, and we made signs," he said.
He wasn't sure many people would notice the inspirational words, but they did.
