NORWAY, Maine — A Bethel man wanted for multiple warrants reportedly barricaded himself in a Norway apartment, creating a standoff with police Friday morning.

Norway police, Paris police, Oxford police, Oxford County deputies, and state police responded to reports of a barricaded person on 14 Tucker St., according to a social media post from Norway police.

Officers initially went to the residence for a suspicious incident complaint.

During an investigation, police said they found Michael Greene had locked himself inside the apartment, leading to a standoff with authorities.

There were numerous violations Greene was wanted for, including a weapons offense in New Hampshire.

Greene was eventually arrested with the help of a Maine State Police Crisis Negotiator.
