Governor Appoints New Member, Reappoints Three to Oversee College Operations

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Governor Ron DeSantis has announced four appointments to the Polk State College District Board of Trustees, bringing in a new member and reappointing three others to serve the institution.

The appointments, which are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate, include the addition of Steve Lester and the reappointment of Ann Barnhart, Cynthia Ross, and Ashley Troutman.

The appointees bring a diverse range of professional and community service experience to the board. Steve Lester , a new appointee, is the Chief of Staff for the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

An alumnus of the University of Florida, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from the institution and a Master’s degree
