MUNSTER — Authorities are still investigating reports of an odor near inactive pipelines in Munster's Cobblestones subdivision, where emergency responders discovered a petroleum sheen in stormwater catch basins on Tuesday, according to a news release.

BP response crews have deployed absorbent booms to contain and collect the sheen, working with local authorities to determine its source. Air monitoring is in place as a precaution, but no elevated readings have been found, BP said. Crews have also placed containment booms across Hart Ditch, although no sheen has been observed there.
