NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A slow moving trough will be sinking south through the weekend. This will be pushing rain chances south as it does so and also bring some relief from the humidity by Sunday.

Saturday is shaping up to be warmer and somewhat drier than earlier forecasts suggested. Rain chances remain in the 20–40 percent range, focused mainly in the afternoon and evening. Any storms that do form could be efficient rain producers thanks to high atmospheric moisture, bringing brief heavy downpours and localized street flooding. Gusty winds up to 30–50 mph are possible in stronger storms. Temperatures will reach the lower 90s, with humid conditions continuing into the night in the mid-70s.
