NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A slow moving trough will be sinking south through the weekend. This will be pushing rain chances south as it does so and also bring some relief from the humidity by Sunday.

Saturday, Aug. 23

Saturday is shaping up to be warmer and than the past couple of days. Rain chances remain in the 20–30 percent range, focused mainly in the afternoon and evening. Overall it looks fairly rain free for most of the area. Temperatures will reach the lower 90s, warm conditions continuing overnight.

Sunday, Aug. 24

The trough over the Gulf continues to slide southward, and that will help reduce storm chances. Only isolated afternoon showers and storms are expected, and humidity levels should feel a little lower than Saturday. Afternoon highs will again reach the low 90s, with night
