SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The fishermen of the Concho Valley are directly helping the Department of Parks and Wildlife by purchasing Texas fishing licenses.

The license fees help directly fund the stocking programs, lake management, and conservation efforts, according to Lynn Wright, a fisheries biologist.

"All the funding that we do within Texas Parks and Wildlife comes from the anglers," Wright said. "It comes from the people who buy those fishing licenses, buy the fishing tackle, and they fund what we do. Even if you're not someone who doesn't like to go fishing, but you wanna help fund conservation, you can purchase the fishing license, and 100% of those dollars from those fishing licenses go to the Parks and Wildlife to support the work that we do.
