PHOENIX, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — After his mother passed out on the bathroom floor, eight-year-old Lyncoln O'Neill sprang into action and dialed 911.
"I was scared, and I was going through everything in my head," O'Neill said.
The incident happened earlier this summer. Thursday, August 21, first responders recognized O'Neill's heroic act.
As soon as dispatchers answered the phone, O'Neill told the dispatcher his name and that he thought his Mom had a seizure.
The 911 dispatcher went out of her way to keep O'Neill calm.
"You're doing such a great job by talking to me. You did a great job calling 911. We're getting help to your mommy," said the dispatcher over the phone to O'Neill.
His mother has dealt with seizures since she was 13 years old, so she educated her kids about what to do if she
