The next generation of Florida football just surpassed a Gator great in the prep ranks.

Florida football commit and Tampa Jesuit quarterback Will Griffin passed Tim Tebow in Florida's high school career passing leaders on Friday, Aug. 22.

Tebow finished his high school career at Nease with 9,810 passing yards. Griffin entered his regular season opener against Bishop Verot (Fort Myers) at 9,765 passing yards.

The Florida commit passed the College Football Hall of Famer by the second quarter.

Griffin is ranked as the No. 4 quarterback in the USA TODAY Florida Top 100 and No. 43 player overall. He was the first recruit to commit to Billy Napier and company in the 2026 cycle, naming the Gators back in June of 2024.
