CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) — After a police shooting in Chandler left an armed suspect dead , Arizona’s Family received a lot of questions about the scene captured by a witness.

Mainly, why were so many shots fired and was deadly force justified?

A police practices expert says the number of rounds when it comes to use of force, justified or not, is irrelevant.

What happened at the scene

Police say it started with a call about a break-in near Frye and McQueen roads around 6:50 a.m. on Thursday. When officers arrived, the suspect drove away, leading police on a pursuit.

The chase ended near McQueen and Pecos roads after police say he hit a Jeep and a police cruiser. Once officers boxed him in, he jumped out of the car, took off running, and that’s when he was shot and killed. Police
