HAVASUPAI INDIAN RESERVATION, AZ (AZFamily) — One of the most coveted hiking spots in Arizona turned into a nightmare for over 100 people one year ago.

On Aug. 22, 2024, heavy rain led to flash flooding at Havasupai Falls, leading to over 100 people needing to be safely evacuated by helicopter and claiming the life of 33-year-old Chenoa Nickerson, who was swept away in the flood waters .

On what should have been her 34th birthday, her siblings spent the day remembering their loved one a year after she was last seen. There has not been a day that Janosh Wolters, Kyra Farkas, and Tamara Morales have not thought about their sister.
