(NEWS10) -- West Nile Virus has been detected in mosquitoes collected from both Pittsfield and Bennington. Health officials said most humans don't get sick, but some may report flu-like symptoms.
Officials said the sickness can become serious in some people, and those aged 50 or older are at the highest risk.
At this time, there have been no reported human cases, but the Vermont and Massachusetts Health Departments are strongly urging people to take precautions to prevent mosquito bites.
