TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Pima County Sheriff's Department has successfully identified a man found dead nine months ago southwest of Tucson, thanks to artificial intelligence. Last week, detectives used an AI-generated image to help uncover the man's identity.

The man has been identified as 55-year-old Ronald Woolf. The AI-generated image, released last week, sparked public interest and led to Woolf's identification. Sheriff Chris Nanos of Pima County called the involvement of AI in the case a success.

For nine months the identity of a John Doe depicted on a Tucson police sketch remained a mystery for PCSD. "Found on the southwest area of Pima County here," said Sheriff Chris Nanos.
