TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - Pima County Attorney Laura Conover's recent comments on a controversial case have put her at odds with the Tucson Police Department.
Conover addressed the case of Daniel Hollander at a Ward 2 public safety town hall Thursday night. Hollander was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison and ten years probation after pleading guilty to entering Tucson's eastside Legacy Traditional School on Jan. 16 armed with a knife and gun and for making threats about killing children.
“The statements about what he might do or not do or why he was there or why he had a weapon came post-arrest and were not preserved under a case called Miranda, with Miranda rights in such a way that we lost some evidence there,” Conover said. “It can happen, we’re all human.”
