PHOENIX (AZFamily) — It’s a First Alert Friday for extreme heat. An Extreme Heat Warning continues for the Valley today for afternoon highs near 111 degrees.
The warning has been extended through Sunday, and both weekend days are also now First Alert Weather Days. High temperatures will top out near 110 degrees both days.
A High Pollution Advisory is in effect again today for the Valley for ozone.
Strong storms moved through the Phoenix area last night, with damaging winds, blowing dust, frequent lightning and pockets of heavy rain. There is about a 20 percent chance that it will happen again this evening.
