ATLANTA, Ga. - The Atlanta Braves celebrated the 30th anniversary of their 1995 World Series championship on Friday.
The champions were honored with a pregame parade and a red carpet ceremony prior to Atlanta’s series opener against the New York Mets. The alumni lined up on the infield and a ceremonial video was played.
There were over 30 alumni, marking the largest gathering the Braves have hosted, according to the team.
Among them was Hall of Fame manager Bobby Cox, who received a raucous ovation from the Truist Park crowd as he was recognized on the jumbotron. He’s made just a few trips to the ballpark since suffering a major stroke at the beginning of the 2019 season.
