NAPOLEON, Mich. (WILX) - Napoleon Township residents are being advised to boil water before drinking it, officials announced Friday night.

Township officials say a drop in pressure could cause bacterial contamination.

Residents are advised to boil water for one minute before letting it cool for consumption. Alternatively, bottled water can be used.

Boiled/bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and preparing food.

Officials say the pressure loss was caused by a well check valve failure.

Residents are advised to boil water until otherwise notified. The problem is expected to be rectified by Monday, Aug. 25.
