LUDINGTON – After narrowly missing out on a district title last season, the Ludington boys varsity soccer team is looking to break through.

“We were in the mix in the conference race, finishing in a tie with the eventual conference champions, North Muskegon,” Orioles head coach Kristofer Anderson said. “North Muskegon finished 8-1-1 and Ludington was 7-1-2. Finishing that close to a conference title has provided some motivation for this year’s team.”

On Friday, the Orioles (1-1-0, 1-0) began their quest for a conference crown as they kicked off West Michigan Conference action against Orchard View at Oriole Field.

Ludington easily handled business, picking up a 4-0 victory.
