HANOVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — If there's any group of people that can truly understand the meaning of “there's no place like home,” it's the Hanover Area Hawkeyes. It's the first time they've played a home game since their field was closed down last year due to lead contamination.

"We haven't played a home game since 2023, we were shut down, last year we had ten road games, we haven't had a locker room till yesterday, yesterday was the first time we stepped into the locker, first time we really stepped out onto the field here was this week,” said Eric Richardson, the Hanover Area Head Coach.

The Hanover Area School District decided to renovate Memorial Stadium last summer for the stadium's 100th anniversary.
