KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A 13-year-old girl reported missing from the Chicago Heights, Illinois, area was safely located in Knoxville, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

KCSO detectives with the Narcotics and Retail Crimes Unit said they received information on Wednesday, Aug. 20, from the Chicago Heights Police Department that the girl may have been kidnapped in the Knoxville area.

Detectives tracked her to an apartment on West Parkway Avenue, where she was found safe with a juvenile male and an adult female, KCSO said. The juvenile male was arrested on a charge of harboring a runaway.
