SALT LAKE CITY — New research from RentalHouse Property Management found that upsizing from a two- to a three-bedroom home will add an average of $513 to rent costs along the Wasatch Front.
The rental information website gathered rent data from across the United States. It found found the percentage to add an extra room increased with each additional bedroom.
On average, upgrading to a one-bedroom home from a studio apartment will add 9.3% to the rent price. Going from a one- to a two-bedroom home will increase your rent by almost 22%. The third bedroom adds 36% to the budget in Northern Utah.
Alaska was the most expensive state to rent three bedrooms. The average cost added $572 to upgrade from two bedrooms.
