Lourdes Gurriel Jr. drove a base hit into center field to score Corbin Caroll from second base in the bottom of the 11th inning, and the Diamondbacks won in walk-off fashion for the second straight game, 6-5 over the Cincinnati Reds on Friday, Aug. 22.

A line-out double play kept the Reds off the board in the top of the 11th, as shortstop Geraldo Perdomo caught a line drive from All-Star Elly De La Cruz and threw to third base to double up T.J. Friedl to end the inning.

Arizona (63-66) kept pace with the current holder of the National League's third wild-card spot, the New York Mets . In defeating the Reds, the Diamondbacks beat one of two teams ahead of them in the wild-card race and remained 5 ½ games back.
