MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Saraland Spartans come out on top over the Jackson Aggies in WKRG News 5's Game of the Week.

In the second quarter, Saraland Quarterback Jamison Roberts connected with AJ Martin on fourth down for a touchdown, giving the Spartans a lead they would not relinquish.

The Spartan defense pitched a shutout after halftime en route to taking down the Aggies for the second-straight season opener.

For Jackson, Landon Duckworth found Jamarrion Gordon for the lone touchdown in the second frame. The Aggies had to navigate the one-game suspension to star running back EJ Crowell.
