ORANGE — The three-touchdown lead by Laguna Hills with nine minutes left on Friday night had dwindled to seven points and momentum had clearly shifted to Canyon’s side of the field.

Facing third-and-19 from near midfield with about three minutes to go, Laguna Hills sophomore quarterback Jaxson Vanderbeek suddenly found some running room and scampered 46 yards for a crucial first down.

One play later, Laguna Hills running back Khryztopher Entrala scored his third rushing touchdown of the game with 2:31 left to finally seal the 42-28 victory at El Modena High.
