WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — A West Lafayette man was arrested after a traffic stop on State Road 26 near Interstate 65.

Indiana State Police said 33-year-old Mahlon Justice was stopped by troopers who noticed possible criminal activity. They called for assistance from a Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department K-9 unit, which detected narcotics in the car.

A search of the car revealed suspected meth, syringes, and a gun. Authorities later determined Justice was driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Justice faces weapons and drug charges.
