LEWISBURG — The Purple Heart Memorial was recently moved 50 feet from its original spot on Market Street in Lewisburg, but its permanent home remains uncertain.

T-Ross Brothers Construction of Montandon donated its time, labor and equipment to move the memorial earlier this month on behalf of Lewisburg Borough Council and Lewisburg Neighborhoods. Meanwhile, members of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter in Lewisburg have asked Mifflinburg Borough Council to relocate the memorial nearly 10 miles away to the community park near the Union County World War II Honor Roll.
