100 Years Ago, 1925: From Harrisburg – Governor Pinchot has accepted the resignation of Judge William B. Broomall of the Delaware County Common Pleas Court. Judge Broomall, whose commission would not have expired until 1928, presented his resignation several months ago because of ill health. It is expected that the governor will name a successor to Broomall within a few days. Broomall’s retirement closes a career of more than 18 years on the bench. William R. Broomall was born in Chester, Jan. 30, 1843. He received his early education in the public schools of this city before entering Haverford College from where he graduated on Sept. 10, 1861. On the same date he entered as a student at law in the offices of his father, the late John M. Broomall, who afterwards represented this district
