CORTLAND The Avamar Foundation is inviting members of the Cortland community to attend its 17th annual "Evening Under the Stars" fundraiser.

According to a news release, the event will take place over two days at the Cadobaz Estate, located at 2747 Cadwallader Sonk Road in Cortland.

The event began on Friday night, but community members will have one more chance on Saturday. Doors open to the event at 5 p.m.

Featured at the event will be a musical performance by violinist Alexander Markov.

Markov, according to the release, will play pieces spanning centuries of music. He will also be joined by an ensemble of singers from the New York City Opera.

Singers included are Tatev Baroyan, Berj Karazian and Christopher Nazarian, as well as pianist Heike Doerr.
