The Rotary Passport Club of the Central Coast and Deepa Biswas Willingham, a Solvang resident and internationally respected Rotary leader, are hosting a fundraiser Aug. 31 to raise money for a girls school in India that combats human-trafficking and provides education for women.
The PACE Universal Learning Center, near Calcutta, India, was founded by Willingham in 2003.
The event, titled “We Are One,” is billed as an afternoon of food, fun, and purpose from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Pork Palace south of Buellton, and will feature a roasted pig prepared by the property’s owner, Randy Jones, Italian cuisine from Trattoria Grappolo, homemade Indian appetizers, wine, beer, and live music from the Latin folk jazz duo Madeline and Elias.
