BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Police with Indiana University are investigating after a person was injured in a shooting near the IU Bloomington campus Saturday morning.

According to IUPD, just after 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of 10th Street and Walnut Grove on the report of a person shot. When officers arrived on scene, they found a person shot in the leg.

Investigators say the shooter tried flee the scene in a vehicle. Officers managed to stop the car and take an 18-year-old girl into custody.

Officials say the victim and the shooter knew each other. Both are not affiliated with Indiana University, police said.

No additional information was released. The incident remains under investigation.
