NEW YORK — The Yankees have a few decisions to make within their pitching staff over these next few days and weeks as they welcome a few arms back from the injured list.

Space will need to be made for Fernando Cruz before his return from the IL on Monday. The same goes for Ryan Yarbrough when the left-hander is ready to come back in a week or two. Both Cruz and Yarbrough have been out since June with oblique strains.

Eventually, the Yankees will need to make a choice on their bench with injured veteran Austin Slater.

Slater, one of the Yankees’ trade deadline acquisitions, got hurt in his third game in a Yankees uniform on August 4. He’s expected to miss four-to-six weeks with a hamstring strain, although Yankees manager Aaron Boone had some good news on his status before Friday n
