Zai’Vohn Perry

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The United States Attorney’s Office Northern District of Indiana announced 25-year-old Zai’Vohn Perry, of South Bend, was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possessing a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime.

Perry was sentenced to 8 years and 5 months consecutively in prison for both counts.

Perry was also sentenced to 3 years of supervised release on both counts, set to run concurrently.

Documents in the case state in January 2024, Perry exchanged fire in a mid-afternoon gunfight, shooting 17 rounds in a residential area in South Bend.

Police say he engaged in another gunfight a week later, firing several rounds in broad daylight in a residential area in South Bend.
