ST. CHARLES, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Development of a data center in St. Charles has halted, at least for a year.

A Friday vote by the St. Charles City Council to place a one-year moratorium in response to community pushback on a proposed data center on the city’s west side .

The moratorium applies to all potential data center projects and expansions being considered in the city.

“A one-year moratorium is at least a good start,” said Clifford Spinner, who lives near the proposed Project Cumulus data center.

Friday again saw a room filled with people for talk on data centers. Spinner was in the audience again to watch and listen.
