More than 50 Liberal members of parliament descended on Windsor and Essex County this week for an annual caucus retreat.
“The community is truly on the front line of Donald Trump’s economic war — there is no more highly integrated border community than Windsor-Essex,” Irek Kusmierczyk, former Liberal MP for Windsor-Tecumseh, told the Star.
With Kusmierczyk’s former riding now held by Conservative Kathy Borrelli following the April federal election, “it was important to keep our community connected to the government” and hold the Ontario Liberal summer caucus retreat in the region, he said.
The MPs, all from Ontario, gathered with Liberal volunteers and supporters at Walkerville Brewery on Tuesday for a social event with roughly 200 people.
