TWIN FALLS — A man has agreed to a plea deal after law officers in January found almost 15 pounds of cocaine in the vehicle he was riding in, records say.

Gerardo Beltran-Martinez, 27, was a passenger of a northbound car that a Twin Falls County Sheriff’s deputy began following the morning of Jan. 31 near milepost 42 of U.S. Highway 93.

He pleaded guilty Thursday to trafficking cocaine in a quantity of 200 grams to 400 grams. Prosecutors and defense will recommend a sentence of eight years fixed and seven years indeterminate during his Oct. 27 sentencing, records say.
