TWIN FALLS — A $10,000 grant awarded to an aspiring nonprofit children’s museum was celebrated with enthusiasm Thursday as confetti shot into the air, and people shouted, “Twin Falls makes more possible.”

It’s another step toward bringing a brick-and-mortar kids’ museum to downtown, offering a permanent place for the Children’s Museum of the Magic Valley to provide science, technology, engineering, art and math activities that make learning fun, accessible and appealing.

The vision of constructing the two-story, 14,000-square-foot museum had a start in 2018, and making the dream become a reality is getting closer, organizers say. They are hoping for a groundbreaking next year and opening in 2028.

It’s an ambitious goal, said Bethany Bell, developmental director.
