Directors with the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen lashed out at the provincial government for abdicating its responsibilities when it comes to the Sage Mesa water system and other rural water systems it operated and managed that are failing across the province.
As has been documented in local media repeatedly over the past few weeks, a total of 242 property owners in the Sage Mesa subdivision are facing a bill for a whopping $33-million bill - roughly $17 million to replace the dilapidated system and the rest in loan repayment over several years for affected property owners.
