MERIDEN, Conn. — Two people were hospitalized after a head-on crash in Meriden late Friday evening, according to police.
The Meriden police and fire department, along with Hunters Ambulance, responded to the intersection of Research Parkway and Pond View Drive just before 10:30 p.m. Friday for a two-vehicle crash.
In a preliminary investigation, investigators determined that a Volkswagen Jetta was traveling north on Research Parkway when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Toyota Sienna traveling south.
The Volkswagen went off the roadway and ended up rolling onto its roof. First responders rescued the entrapped driver, who police said was taken to an area hospital and is listed in critical condition. The Toyota driver was also seriously injured and was taken to an ar
