Eastbound lanes of Highway 403 between Rest Acres Road and Middle Townline Road expected to be closed for several hours, police said Saturday morning

Two drivers were transported to hospital with serious injuries following a collision on Highway 403 in Brant County.

The crash, involving a transport truck and box truck, has led to the closure of all eastbound lanes of Highway 403 between Rest Acres Road and Middle Townline Road in Brant County.

The drivers’ injuries are serious but not considered life-threatening, Sgt Ed Sanchuk of the OPP West Region in a social media post. “Which is the best news I could deliver all day,” he said. “Those commercial vehicles can be replaced, those drivers cannot.”

The collision occurred at shortly after 5 a.m., said Sanchuk. Police
