DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Clear the Shelters annual initiative, led by NBCUniversal Local, will be held this Saturday in partnership with the Animal Resource Center (ARC) of Montgomery County.

2 NEWS team members will be at both SISCA and the Humane Society of Greater Dayton shelters on Saturday, Aug. 23.

For the Humane Society, 1661 Nicholas Rd., it will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For SISCA at 8172 Washington Church Rd, in Washington Twp., it will be from noon to 2 p.m.

According to officials, the Animal Resource Center is full again. The center is only set to hold 80 dogs, but right now, it’s at capacity with over 100 dogs. However, they have a variety of great dogs ready to find ‘FURever’ homes.

There will be a 50 percent reduction in adoption fees at the Humane Society.
