It’s been a crappy start to the weekend. The Yankees lost on Thursday because the pitching couldn’t hold it together, and lost last night because the offense couldn’t manage much of anything. The bare minimum for this four-game series is a split, but they’ll have to try and get that against a Cy Young contender.

Garrett Crochet has so far validated Boston’s decision to trade for, and extend, him. The southpaw would be in an absolute dogfight with Tarik Skubal if Cy Young voting were held today, and after a game where the Yankee offense looked lost, he certainly seems like the perfect follow-up were I a Red Sox fan.
