MAYFIELD, Ky. —

A shooting during a Kentucky high school football game left one person injured Friday night.

It happened in Mayfield, which is in the western part of the state.

The shooting happened near War Memorial football stadium during a game between Mayfield and Graves County, according to the Mayfield Police Department.

Police said the incident occurred in a parking area next to the stadium.

One adult victim was transported by ambulance to Jackson Purchase Medical Center and later airlifted to a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee for further treatment.

The person’s condition has not been publicly released at this time.
