A man who was driving a semi-truck and crashed on Florida's Turnpike, killing three people from South Florida in Fort Pierce, appeared before a judge on Saturday.

Harjinger Singh, 28, was charged with three counts of vehicular homicide and three counts of manslaughter.

During his court appearance, a judge said there was probable cause for the charges Singh faces, and further evidence revealed that he was in the country illegally.

"This court further finds that based on review of the sworn complaint affidavit, there is proof by preponderance of the evidence that the defendant is an unauthorized alien," the judge said.

The judge cited that Singh is a "substantial flight risk," and denied him bond.
