A key defensive player for the No. 21 Iowa State football team was seen exiting the field with an apparent injury during the Cyclones' Week 0 game against No. 20 Kansas State in Ireland on Saturday, Aug. 23.
Iowa State defensive lineman Zaimir Hawk limped to the locker room before halftime. The redshirt sophomore played in all 14 games last season, recording nine total tackles.
The Big 12 Conference matchup between the Cyclones and Wildcats is tied 7-7 heading into the second half.
