DERIDDER, La. ( KPLC /Gray News) - Two men are accused of raping “very young” children in what a Louisiana sheriff called one of the “most disturbing” cases he’s been involved with.

Kenneth Leslie Reed Sr., 74, and 31-year-old Justin Allen Stephens, both of DeRidder, were arrested Thursday.

The Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report on Aug. 1 of a child being inappropriately touched. The child gave statements and evidence that led to Reed and Stephens being named as prime suspects for the abuse of two “very young” victims, Sheriff Mark Herford said.

“The most disturbing case I’ve been involved with in quite some time,” the sheriff said.

Both suspects face charges of first-degree rape of a victim under 13. Reed faces three counts, while Stephens is charged with four.
